There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
Hello!
Time for another update! We are getting more and more excited about the upcoming outreach. Thanks to all of you who have registered and paid deposits (or more).
We want to encourage you with a few different items:
Our booklet is viewable at comesee.events. Go to the "Experience" tab and then to "Booklet". You can view it in a .pdf format (setting it to two-page view gives a better idea of the layout), or there is a link to an ".epub" version. Please familiarize yourself with the contents so when we're in Paris you can know what we're sharing with others. Here you can also see the team shirt we'll be ordering.
Payments: please try to make further payments. Go to seeolympics.com and to the "Registration" tab. There should be a tab that says "Payments".
Some of you are paying separate to the website--if you need information for direct deposits or sending checks, please let us know.
We would like payments in full by May 1. Our payments to the accommodation and to the printer need to be made!
Thanks to those who are already paid in full!
Passports: If you haven't provided us with a passport number, please do so. If you don't have a passport, please get on it ASAP. We will have your passport numbers on file so if there an issue with lost or stolen passports we can have a record of it. Also, please make sure it does not expire before January 2025! Europe can deny entry to anyone with less than 6 months left on their passport.
Flights: If you haven't booked your flights into/out of Paris yet, please be checking it out. We've seen prices drop recently, but don't know how long that will last. We need to know your flight details (times of arrival/departure, airlines, flight numbers) so we can organize for someone to be there to meet you and give you instructions.
Typical day: Our accommodation is at a Franciscan monastery. They have a set schedule for their mealtimes, which cannot be altered. Breakfast will be served at 8:00 am. We will be given a "picnic" lunch each day to take with us. Dinner will be at 7:15 pm. Before dinner we will have a rally to report what the Lord has done each day. So from approximately 9:00 am until 5.30 pm, we will travel by train to various sites around Paris to distribute booklets and have gospel conversations with people from all over the world!
Teams: You will be placed in teams of 10 or so and be able to work in different locations each day. Those who are less mobile can be accommodated with easier areas where less walking will be required. Be aware, some train stations do not have elevators, so if you cannot manage stairs, let us know! Also, it's very important to stick together. Do not leave your group without informing your leader. By no means travel alone. Two by two or three is best. When sharing one-on-one with someone, it's best to have one or two others at the side praying!
Be thinking about a way to carry as many booklets with you each day as possible (backpack, large waist pack, pockets). We will endeavor to get more booklets to teams throughout the day.
We would like to have each team have a tablet or unlocked phone that can be used to record information from people who trust Christ, or who wish for more information. In the past we've had tear-out cards in the booklets, but not this time. We do want to keep track of inquiries/decisions so we can follow them up--this is SO important to us. We'll be working on an app that we can use for this.
Music: We want to sing praises at our rallies. We will locate a guitar we can use there in Paris so we don't have to ask anyone to try to bring one, but if any of you are guitar players, let us know so we can get music organized. We're not sure if there will be a keyboard/piano available at the meeting room.
Team shirts: It is our hope to be mailing your shirts to you ahead of time so you can get them into your luggage. We will supply SEE themed ribbons for you to attach to your luggage so we can easily identify bags at the airport.
If you speak French, or another language--that's very helpful! We're lining up people in Paris who will be able to travel along with our teams as interpreters.
By the way, if you still have friends that may be interested in coming along, please encourage them to register. We have been informed that some people are having difficulties with the registration form on the seeolympics.com website. You may need to try a different browser (i.e. Microsoft Edge). If you continue to have problems, please let us know.
This is a lot of information to digest! If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask. We may not think of everything, so your input is valuable. We are excited that we have several coming who have been at these events in the past--so we will have some "experienced" people along. If you were with us in Rio, Josh and Rachael Richards were part of that outreach. Rachael was just in a serious car accident. She was sideswiped while protecting their daughter. She could use your prayers!
See you in July!
